Dear Visitors of our Cattery Website!

Apologies that we have not yet translated our website into English. But we do speak English and understand Spanish, French and little Swedish. We will be happy to answer any of your questions concerning our breeding and plans. Do not hesitate to contact us! We will give some information hereafter...

About our Cattery

We established Greygables Maine Coons in 2007. The cattery name reflects our home which is a Scandinavian and partly New England style home in grey and white with some gables. We like this style very much and love our home which we share with our family and cats. Of course we are prepared for keeping studs in a separate apartment if necessary (but never alone!). But usually all of our cats are given free access to the whole house (except the guest rooms) and to our outdoor runs and fenced garden. Please take a look at the pictures of our outdoor areas on our German website. You will find the pics under CATTERY.

Our intention is to breed outcross, means we are striving for pedigrees with a total inbreeding below 10 %. We do believe that this is good for the whole breed and helps to improve health. Further, we screen all our cats for potential health issues, such as HD (hip dysplasia) and HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy). We do any available gene test for our cats and the cattery is of course parasite and FeLV and FIV free. We will only breed with healthy cats, and the total number of cats in our house will not exceed 10 to 12 adults (incl. kittens under evaluation). We love to pay individual attention to each cat!

Our kittens (two to three times a year) will grow up in a separate room during their first weeks. After some weeks they will roam the whole house and will be socialized well. They get used to humans and adult cats as well as normal household activities and we do everything possible to bring healthy, beautiful and confident kittens to their new homes. They are leaving us not before they are at least 13 weeks old. They will then be dewormed, vaccinated and chipped and have a veterinary certificate and an international passport.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions!
